castle park

Castle Park’s gardens were designed by Edward Kemp, renowned for his work at Birkenhead Park. A private residence until 1931, the park includes a formal bedding scheme, an American Garden including a pond and mature woodland and open parkland.

More than 2000 trees have been planted by volunteers in Castle Park, and the Tree Trail includes Maidenhair Tree, Monkey Puzzle and a Weeping Beech.

Resources in the park include Castle Park House, a one-stop shop for Vale Royal Borough Council and Castle Park Arts Centre with exhibitions and craft retailers. Castle Park is the subject of an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for its restoration.
