Winsford Civic Hall opened in 1967. It is well situated in the centre of Cheshire and the refurbishment of 1995/96 has enhanced its reputation.
The building houses the largest indoor hall in Vale Royal and can seat up to 960 people theatre style and 500 cabaret style.
Apart from the main hall (the terrace end can be screened off to provide a separate area for 100 people), the building contains a function room which can cater for 80, two bar areas, a basic kitchen and stage and technical equipment areas.
The hall has a varied programme throughout the year, including variety shows, children's entertainments, pantomime, band concerts, dog shows, bird shows, dance competitions, dinner dances, private parties, wedding receptions, meetings and clubs.
It is strongly involved with the local community, including operatic societies, local churches, the arts centre and the police.
Sporting activities also take place and include indoor bowls, keep fit and a temporary ice rink for one week a year.
